President's Message

We have experienced extreme heat in July and we will soon be in the dog days of August. Fortunately, for those of us who spend a great deal of time at Kol Shalom, the air conditioning system has been working very well to keep us cool. We are now beginning to prepare for the   upcoming High Holidays and, as usual, there is a great deal of work to do. Our new High Holiday Machzorim have been delivered, their dedication stickers in place thanks to Mary Fortin and Ben Weiner, and are on the shelves in the entrance to the synagogue.    The Rabbi is preparing to make a smooth transition in our High Holiday services from our old to new Machzorim.

Our new Board of Directors is in place and I wish to thank all the Board members who have served the last two years and who have helped to make the first two years of the merger very successful.  Special thanks to those Board members who have stepped down - Ira Rifkin, Barry Rosenberg, Scott Intner, Phyllis Weisbaum and Irene Friedman - your dedication to Kol Shalom is greatly appreciated. We are looking for volunteers to help in all aspects of preparation for the High Holidays - parking, chair set up, babysitting, etc. Please let me know if you would be willing to help.

Shalom,

Howard Salob
