President's Message

We have now experienced the most snow in one year in the history of the Baltimore-Annapolis-Washington corridor, more than 72 inches. Most of us would rather not see another snowflake and hopefully, that wish will come true. Many of our postponed programs have been rescheduled and the Daniel Rothman Religious School is exploring ways to make up time lost because of the snow. Purim was celebrated at the end of February and a fun time was had by all who attended services and the Purim Carnival.  Passover, my favorite holiday, is just around the corner and I hope that everyone enjoys this holiday.

We have almost completed two years as a newly merged congregation and I wish to report that our congregation is very successful. We are lucky to have a wonderful rabbi, Philip Pohl, who has amalgamated the best aspects of two congregations into an even better congregation, Kol Shalom. We have an excellent religious school, under the leadership of Sue Westenburger and her staff of teachers, that is giving our children a varied and wonderful Jewish educational experience. We have had many wonderful programs and I know that we will have many more. We have become a viable and visible entity in the greater Annapolis Jewish community and I am proud to be a member of Kol Shalom.
