Usually I take this opportunity to tell you about the exciting things that we have been doing at DRRS, and in fact, we just got back from an amazing field trip to Gary Rosenthal's Studio in Kensington. I will tell you more about the trip next time, so check back! This month however, I wanted to tell you why DRRS is such a great place for your child to grow and learn about Judaism. The Jewish Educators Assembly held an awards dinner on Sunday, April 21. Two members of our DRRS family, along with eleven others in the Baltimore-Washington area, were honored that night. This year our honorees were Laura Kleiman and Lana Schultz. Both Laura, with her long list of volunteer programs at both Kol Shalom and DRRS, and Lana, with her commitment to our students as a long time teacher and B'nai Mitzvah tutor, are the epitome of what is great in our DRRS family. We are very lucky to have these two amazing women, along with our strong group of volunteer parents and a wonderful group of committed teachers in our school. Through their efforts, we continue to grow and prosper. New ideas, creative activities, as well as a strong foundation in Hebrew and Judaism, set DRRS apart from other schools. Please join me in congratulating Laura and Lana for their continued efforts at DRRS and todah rabah to all of our volunteers and staff. Together, we will continue to strive to be the best synagogue school we can be. Please let me know if you want more information about DRRS to share with any other families. B’shalom, G’veret Sue |
